Jen & Frankie's Garden Wedding Party

One chilled out wedding with a rainbow welcome!

I first met Jen and Frankie at Bournemouth Town Hall Wedding Fair where we briefly chatted about their wedding plans. My instant impression was that this wedding was going to be super chilled, totally relaxed and a bundle of fun with friends and family...

...I wasn’t wrong!

On the day of Jen and Frankie's wedding, they kept their wedding ceremony quite private with only their immediate family at Bournemouth Town Hall.

Afterwards their fabulous photographer Rachel Elizabeth Photographytook them onto Bournemouth Beach and into the gardens to capture some precious moments together. Take a look at these lovely snaps of Jen and Frankie, both with the biggest of smiles and just oozing happiness...truly beautiful!

To celebrate their marriage with all their friends and family, Jen and Frankie hired an Air BnB in Bournemouth (they did of course ask the home owners beforehand if this was ok!).

A fabulous rainbow balloon welcomed their loved ones into the garden for their evening wedding party...

...this is where they needed our help!

With a free bar of prosecco, wine and beers they needed some help with serving the drinks and offering around the canapes. The canapes were a selection of Marks & Spencer's finest and Frankie's dad, Frank, thinly sliced some fresh prosciutto ham to wrap around breadsticks.

With Frankie's Italian roots this was their way of bringing a little piece of Italy to their wedding!

Our job was to keep their guests fed and everyones drinks topped up, which we certainly did. The mountain of canapes soon disappeared and we kept the fizz flowing...

...we did apologise for any sore heads that may have occurred in the morning!

Whilst my team carried on topping up the drinks, I was able to meet Matt from Flaming Peachesand check he had everything he needed. Once he was set up, I sent the guests round to his street food van to collect their extremely yummy and very posh burgers with truffle fries.

Not long after, I met with Giggi from Giggis Gelateria , who parked his ice cream tricycle next to Matt on the drive. Giggi served everyone a super tasty pudding of his homemade Italian ice-cream, another added Italian treat!

In the lead up to Jen and Frankie’s wedding the weather had been particularly terrible. With non-stop rain we were uncertain whether this garden wedding party would be forced into an indoor wedding party. It had rained for so many days, I didn’t think it could possibly rain anymore and thankfully it didn’t...

...the sun put his hat on and shone all day for Jen and Frankie!

This house really was the perfect party house as the bi-fold kitchen doors opened up the kitchen into the garden meaning everyone could move around as they wished and it made the perfect stage for the speeches!

As dusk fell we lit the tealight candles around the garden and turned the fairylights on to light up the garden. We kept the drinks flowing until we turned it into a ‘help yourself’ bar just before we left. By this time, the music had been cranked up and everyone was boogieing on the patio (the dancefloor). We tried to sneak out without bothering anyone, but having said goodbye to Frank (Frankies dad), it escalated into a ‘goodbye’ chorus from all the guests.

This made us laugh...truly brilliant!

My team and I left everyone singing and dancing to a Spice Girls track...just the best ending to a really great night!

Thank you so much Jen and Frankie for letting us be a part of your fabulously fun garden wedding party.

Wishing an amazing couple an amazingly happy future together!

Lots of love

Your DIY wedding planning journey can be hard work with a lot to think about and organise. For that reason it is important you actually enjoy your day without having to worry about who will do what jobs and when. Here you can read about Georgia and Phil's big day at Tournerbury Woods on Hayling Island and find out just how valuable it was for them to have a wedding co-ordinator to ensure they had a stress free wedding day.

In my opinion a DIY wedding is the perfect type of wedding as you can put your stamp on it and make it your own. Natalie and Jake had planned the most stunning DIY wedding at Bake Barn in Wiltshire and needed help with co-ordination on the day. Taking my team we made sure their day ran smoothly and to their time-plan doing all the jobs that needed doing. This meant they could enjoy every minute of their day with their friends and family - stress free!

Planning a DIY wedding is always so much fun but on the day there are so many jobs that need doing. Bex and Graham planned a beautiful and relaxed wedding at Warborne Farm in Lymington, Hampshire where the Tasha Mae team were able to help ensure all the jobs were done and their day ran smoothly so they didn't need to worry about a thing!

You have to love a marquee wedding in a field overlooking the sea, which is exactly what Keely and Dan planned for their big day. The Tasha Mae team loved co-ordinating their special DIY day and despite the strong winds and rain we all had a fabulous time ensuring everything ran like clockwork.

When planning a DIY marquee wedding there is a lot to do and you might find you need some help on the day. Read all about Emma and Ed's big day and how Tasha Mae and her team helped ensure everything run smoothly.

Winter weddings can be just as beautiful as summer weddings and after co-ordinating Jake and Laura's big day in December, I can most certainly vouch for that! You don't need to think of a theme with a twinkling Christmas tree, roaring fire and mince pies as canapes, what more could you ask for? Not only that but you don't need to worry about the weather as you've already planned it for the winter so you know what to aim for!

The beauty of planning your own DIY wedding is you can do exactly as you wish and after co-ordinating Cassie and Oliver's, I have to say there is something to be said for having your wedding at home in your back garden. With a relaxed, almost zen vibe, Cassie and Oliver had the most beautiful chilled out wedding day in the comfort of their family home and garden.

Deciding on your wedding decor is the fun part but on the day you might need some help putting everything in place whilst you get ready to tie the knot. Rachel and Ben had planned a DIY marquee wedding and needed some help in the morning of their big day to make sure their venue looked pretty and just as they wanted before everyone arrived.

As an on the day wedding co-ordinator so many of the weddings I co-ordinate are in the summer, which means the majority of my imagery are of bright sunny weddings. For that reason, I thought it was about time I showed everyone that winter weddings can be just as beautiful and somewhat mystical!

Planning a DIY wedding is great fun as it means you can personalise it and put your own stamp on your special day without lots of restrictions. This 'Real Wedding' blog tells the story of Katy and AJ who had their wedding reception in their parents garden with all their own handmade props.
