Avant-Garde Outdoor Wedding Breakfast

A Contemporary Styled Photoshoot

With my first complete year as ‘Tasha-Mae’ in full swing my aim was to introduce myself to new wedding suppliers and to visit as many different wedding venues as possible. Through social media I had discovered many local suppliers who I was keen to meet with, one in particular was Jacky from Sunninghill Weddings. After chatting online we arranged a convenient day I could go on a little road-trip to see for myself what Jacky offered her couples when they booked her venue for their wedding.

During our conversation Jacky mentioned she had seen some of my photoshoots I had previously organised and asked if I would like to organise one at Sunninghill. With the majority of my weddings being outdoor DIY weddings and Jacky keen to show off her grounds we realised that a shoot would be of great benefit to us both.

Organising and co-ordinating photoshoots allows me to show my creativity and hopefully inspire couples to try different ideas when planning their own DIY wedding...

I mean why do the 'NORM' when you can do what you like with an outdoor space!

With this in mind we decided to set up a complete wedding breakfast on the lawn with a flower shaped seating plan. Using this layout meant the newlywed couple could sit in the heart of their friends and family rather than looking down on them all, like you would from a traditional head table.

Using high end crockery and rose copper cutlery from Hospitality Hire with stylish place settings designed by Pastel Designs...

...perfectly matched with top quality blush pink table runners and napkins from Special Occasion Linen, our tables looked stunning.

Five Star Celebrationsadded some matching chair sashes and bows...

...and Old Chapel Flowersdecorated the tables with beautiful flower arrangements.

With the contemporary styled champagne bucket...

...the exquisite dried flower parasol...

...and not forgetting this cascading waterfall flower arrangement which was an absolute beauty!

Of course, you need food at your wedding breakfast so Loose Moose Cateringfilled the cake stands from Hospitality Hire with this selection of colourful sweet and savoury nibbles.

Not only did Charlotte from Pastel Designsdesign the place settings, she also designed this luxe style stationery set...

...and this individually framed table-plan which she hung on the trunk of a beautiful old tree. This is such a great way to catch your guest’s eyes and at the same time take advantage of the natural environment around you.

It was important to Jacky to have a contemporary feel to the shoot and if you have seen my other shoots you will know I always like to include something that little bit different.

Having worked with Angela from Mon Bel Amour Cake Craftbefore, I knew she would create a masterpiece to WOW the wedding guests...

...and she cracked it again!

If anyone can hang a cake upside down Angela can and with this stunning old walnut tree on the lawn, it made the perfect hanging tree!

Sara from Musicalous played her outdoor piano so beautifully alongside the wedding breakfast set-up. Having a pianist is such an...

'elegant and classy'

...way to add some background music whilst you and your wedding guests are eating.

Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten our beautiful bride and handsome groom...

Katie’s dress was supplied by Wedding Time, as was Dans tailored suit with a choice of waistcoats.

Dan’s bow ties, the ‘Majestic’...

...and the ‘Debonair’...

...were supplied by WINGS Bow Ties.

...so dapper and sophisticated!

Katie was made up by the fantastic make-up artist, Jess from Model Makeovers...

... and Katie’s hair...well what can I say?!

Tracy from Brideshair styled Katie’s hair then created this incredible head crown which she arranged directly into her hair using delicate dried flowers from Old Chapel Flowers. Truly beautiful!

At Sunninghillthere are a variety of outdoor areas you can use, such as the tennis courts...

...the shepherds hut...

...the swimming pool...

...and the children’s play area (who says it’s for kids!).

With Greg from TP Photographyas our photographer he captured this exceptional gallery of photos and thanks to the very talented team involved I managed to get our shoot featured on Plans and Presents Wedding Blog.

I do love receiving a new ‘Featured On’ badge!

The simple moral to this photoshoot is NOT to be scared to make the most of your outside space ...BUT always have a contingency plan in case the weather isn’t kind to you!

Lots of Love

Your DIY wedding planning journey can be hard work with a lot to think about and organise. For that reason it is important you actually enjoy your day without having to worry about who will do what jobs and when. Here you can read about Georgia and Phil's big day at Tournerbury Woods on Hayling Island and find out just how valuable it was for them to have a wedding co-ordinator to ensure they had a stress free wedding day.

In my opinion a DIY wedding is the perfect type of wedding as you can put your stamp on it and make it your own. Natalie and Jake had planned the most stunning DIY wedding at Bake Barn in Wiltshire and needed help with co-ordination on the day. Taking my team we made sure their day ran smoothly and to their time-plan doing all the jobs that needed doing. This meant they could enjoy every minute of their day with their friends and family - stress free!

Planning a DIY wedding is always so much fun but on the day there are so many jobs that need doing. Bex and Graham planned a beautiful and relaxed wedding at Warborne Farm in Lymington, Hampshire where the Tasha Mae team were able to help ensure all the jobs were done and their day ran smoothly so they didn't need to worry about a thing!

You have to love a marquee wedding in a field overlooking the sea, which is exactly what Keely and Dan planned for their big day. The Tasha Mae team loved co-ordinating their special DIY day and despite the strong winds and rain we all had a fabulous time ensuring everything ran like clockwork.

When planning a DIY marquee wedding there is a lot to do and you might find you need some help on the day. Read all about Emma and Ed's big day and how Tasha Mae and her team helped ensure everything run smoothly.

Winter weddings can be just as beautiful as summer weddings and after co-ordinating Jake and Laura's big day in December, I can most certainly vouch for that! You don't need to think of a theme with a twinkling Christmas tree, roaring fire and mince pies as canapes, what more could you ask for? Not only that but you don't need to worry about the weather as you've already planned it for the winter so you know what to aim for!

The beauty of planning your own DIY wedding is you can do exactly as you wish and after co-ordinating Cassie and Oliver's, I have to say there is something to be said for having your wedding at home in your back garden. With a relaxed, almost zen vibe, Cassie and Oliver had the most beautiful chilled out wedding day in the comfort of their family home and garden.

Deciding on your wedding decor is the fun part but on the day you might need some help putting everything in place whilst you get ready to tie the knot. Rachel and Ben had planned a DIY marquee wedding and needed some help in the morning of their big day to make sure their venue looked pretty and just as they wanted before everyone arrived.

As an on the day wedding co-ordinator so many of the weddings I co-ordinate are in the summer, which means the majority of my imagery are of bright sunny weddings. For that reason, I thought it was about time I showed everyone that winter weddings can be just as beautiful and somewhat mystical!

Planning a DIY wedding is great fun as it means you can personalise it and put your own stamp on your special day without lots of restrictions. This 'Real Wedding' blog tells the story of Katy and AJ who had their wedding reception in their parents garden with all their own handmade props.
